A Message From the Creator
Dear Doctors,
I am writing to invite you to participate in my campaign for spreading awareness of Late Onset Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia within the medical and female communities. My project I Am Late Onset CAH was prompted by my own diagnosis with Late Onset Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia in 2016 and has been brought to life through an advocacy assignment for my Honors Rhetoric and Civic Life class at the Schreyer Honors College within the Pennsylvania State University.
Often times, Late Onset CAH is dismissed because it is not life threatening in the same way as the Classic form of CAH, but my goal in this campaign is to bring the struggles and experiences of those who have Late Onset CAH to the forefront and highlight the reasons why it should be regarded with the same amount of seriousness and respect as the Classic form of CAH. Through this campaign, I aim to inform pediatricians, gynecologists, and females ages six and older of what Late Onset CAH is so that females with Late Onset CAH do not have to face the struggles of misdiagnoses, the distress and confusion of not knowing what is wrong, or the long-term complications of having CAH. Instead, I aim to help females with Late Onset CAH find answers and to invite them into a loving community where they can understand their diagnoses and share their story.
I, therefore, passionately ask that you will join me in helping doctors and females spot the symptoms of Late Onset CAH so they can seek diagnosis as soon as possible.
