Genetics

CAH is a recessive inherited disease, meaning one CAH gene must be inherited from each parent to have CAH. 

Genes come in pairs. If a person has two genes that are not associated with CAH, they do not have CAH. If a person has one gene associated with CAH and one gene that is not associated with CAH, they are considered a carrier of CAH. If a person has two
 genes associated with CAH, they have CAH.
